Tim Nicholson

Tim Nicholson's paintings both recent and throughout his life are available from Sladers Yard. One of the incredibly talented Nicholson family, Tim Nicholson's joyous colours and irrepressibly playful style belie a sophisticated sense of drawing. Tim plays with the idea of representation with a sure hand and a great sense of fun. Jugs, bird and landscapes and are transformed into jewels, flattened and yet bursting with life. His paintings may have writing on them as if he has painted them by numbers

Tim Nicholson - Bird

Tim Nicholson grew up in one of Britain's most eminent artistic families, grandson of William and nephew of Ben Nicholson, surrounded by discussion of the ideas behind painting. John Craxton stayed with them in rural Dorset and painted with Tim's mother EQ Nicholson. In the same cottage, Tim now lives with his wife Catherine and paints his playful vibrant pictures.
